Marlborough Cancels School Due To Snow

A messy snowstorm might dump more than a foot on the area by Tuesday morning, according to forecasts.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — The MetroWest area is under a winter storm warning until 7 a.m. Tuesday, and Marlborough Public Schools have canceled classes Monday. The storm is expected to make travel extremely difficult across Massachusetts, especially because of the possibility of ice during the Monday morning commute.

"Due to the inclement weather there will be no school today," Superintendent Michael Bergeron wrote on the district website Sunday night.

The messy storm could drop more than 12 inches of snow in the area by Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. In general, areas north of the Mass Pike will get higher accumulations, according to forecasts.
