Marlborough Cannabis Store Vedi Naturals Approved By Council

MARLBOROUGH, MA — A possible second adult-use cannabis store Marlborough is cruising toward an opening date.

The Marlborough City Council on Monday approved a special permit for Vedi Naturals, which plans to open a recreational store at the Twin Boro Crossing shopping plaza, 505 Boston Post Road. According to the permit, Vedi would operate a 2,350 square-foot store between 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays. The special permit is still subject to final site plan approval by the city.

Vedi Naturals owner Jigar Patel in August received approval from the state Cannabis Control Commission for a provisional license. The store still needs a final license from the cannabis commission before it can open its doors.

Marlborough's first adult cannabis store, Garden Remedies, opened in June 2019. A third cannabis retailer applied to open a store in Marlborough earlier this summer. Local Roots NE is being backed in part by Marlborough-based Keystone Development Corporation co-founders Michael Staiti and Rick Olstein.
