Marlborough Democrats To Pick Delegates For State Convention

Any registered Democrat in Marlborough can attend and run for one of the 16 delegate slots.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — The Marlborough Democratic City Committee will hold a caucus on Saturday to pick delegates for the statewide Democratic convention coming up in September. Any registered Democrat from Marlborough can attend and run for one of 16 delegate and 11 alternate slots.

Registered Democrats in Marlborough will hold a caucus on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at Kane Elementary School, 520 Farm Road, at 10 a.m. to elect Delegates and Alternates to the 2021 Massachusetts Democratic State Convention. The doors will open at 9:30 a.m.

The caucus will take place in person, following all current health guidelines, and virtually for those who want to participate remotely. Democrats who wish to participate virtually must pre- register here. Zoom registrants will receive a confirmation email with log-in information for the caucus prior to the caucus date.

“Now more than ever, democracy is certainly not a spectator sport. I encourage all those who can to attend in person to do so,” said Dan Caruso, chair of the Marlborough Democratic City Committee.

This year’s Democratic State Convention will be held on Saturday, September 25 th at the Paul Tsongas Center in Lowell. Democrats from across the state will come together to adopt a Party platform, discuss Party business, and celebrate our successes as we prepare for upcoming elections. The event will take place in line with all federal, state, and local health guidelines and will include a virtual option for participation.

The caucus is open to all registered and pre-registered Democrats in Marlborough. Pre-registered Democrats who will be 16 years old by June 15, 2021, will be allowed to participate and run as a Delegate or Alternate. Marlborough may elect 16 Delegates and 11 Alternates to the Convention. Youth, minorities, people with disabilities, and LGBTQ+ individuals who are not elected as a Delegate or

Alternate may apply to be an Add-on Delegate at the caucus or at www.massdems.org by August 6, 2021.
