Marlborough Drive Nets 2,500 Pounds For Community Cupboard
The Marlborough Democratic City Committee hosted the Jan. 19 drive for food and other items.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — A donation drive held recently for the Community Cupboard netted over 2,500 pounds of goods and over $500 in monetary gifts, according to organizers.
The donation drive was held on Jan. 19 and organized by the Marlborough Democratic City Committee. The event was meant to coincide with service projects on MLK Day and around the inauguration of President Joe Biden.
The donations included plenty of nonperishable food, personal items like cleaning supplies and hygiene products, plus checks and gift cards. The Community Cupboard provides basic items for about 500 local families across the area each month. The pandemic has stretched the cupboard, according to leaders.
