Marlborough Schools Will Stay Remote Until February
The Marlborough School Committee has moved away from a plan to return to hybrid learning on Jan. 19 with coronavirus cases still high.
MARLBOROUGH, MA — The Marlborough School Committee has reversed on a decision made last week to bring students back to class in a hybrid format in January.
On Tuesday, the committee voted to push back the hybrid start date form Jan. 19 to Feb. 1, according to a message sent to parents by Superintendent Michael Bergeron.
Marlborough students in grades 3 to 12 have been learning in a remote format since October when coronavirus cases began rising across the city. As of the latest update on Jan. 11, coronavirus cases were still very high in Marlborough — the city was adding over 84 cases per day per 100,000 residents, and the positive test rate was near 10 percent.
