Marlborough's Lost Shoe Brewing Throwing 2-Year Anniversary Bash
The Marlborough brewer and coffee roaster turned one during coronavirus. This year, the owners will actually be able to celebrate.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Marlborough's Lost Shoe Brewing and Roasting Co. one-year anniversary came and went in May 2020 with little fanfare thanks to the pandemic. But in 2021, the popular downtown spot will actually be able to celebrate its second birthday.
The brewer and coffee roaster is planning a weekend of events beginning May 8, including live music, a slew of beer releases and food. Lost Shoe will also host a virtual 5K beginning on May 6 featuring brewery swag.
Lost Shoe owners JP and Melynda Gallagher opened the Weed Street brewery on May 11, 2019, paying homage to Marlborough's history as a shoe manufacturing center. The brewery was an instant hit, and is typically packed in the evenings — the owners are recommending anyone planning to attend the two-year anniversary weekend make reservations.

Like other businesses, the brewery struggled with constant rule changes during the pandemic. But with coronavirus cases falling statewide and more people getting vaccinated, Gov. Charlie Baker has plans to let businesses like Lost Shoe open more freely this summer. In something of an anniversary gift from the state, bars and breweries will no longer have to abide by pandemic-era food rules beginning on May 29.
