Marlborough's Philip Raymond Indicted On Child Porn Charges: Feds

This is Raymond's third arrest since March 2019 on child pornography charges, according to authorities.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Marlborough resident Philip Raymond has been arrested for a third time on child pornography charges, this time for producing pornography involving more than a dozen minors over the course of nearly a decade, according to federal prosecutors.

Raymond, a bitcoin expert and former chair of the Cryptocurrency Standards Association, was arrested on Thursday night at his home. He was charged with 13 counts of sexual exploitation of minors and attempt, according to prosecutors.

Raymond, 63, was first arrested in March 2019 and later charged with three counts of rape of a child by force, two counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, and possession of child pornography.

He was arrested again in February on charges of possession of child pornography after state and federal law enforcement obtained a warrant and searched computer devices Raymond owned.

According to federal prosecutors, Raymond produced child pornography between 2004 and 2012 featuring 13 different children. He is facing a minimum of 15 years in federal prison per charge, plus heavy fines.
