MARLBOROUGH, MA — MassDOT wants to widen one of the most crammed I-495 exits in the area, and the agency is looking for citizen feedback on the project. MassDOT held a public meeting on Tuesday night to give out details about the plan, and is accepting comments from Marlborough and Hudson residents.

According to plans, MassDOT would spend about $6 million to widen exit 25B from southbound I-495 to westbound I-290. The one-lane ramp backs up during rush hour, and has seen 130 traffic accidents over the last three years.

The project is still in very early stages. MassDOT will likely open bidding on the project this spring. More design work will need to be done before construction can start.

Although still early, MassDOT says that traffic won't be majorly disrupted by the project. Some lanes will have to be closed intermittently.
