Pete Doran, Hockey Ref, Monster.Com Salesman, Dies After Short Illness

Doran was born in England, and then moved to Framingham and later, Marborough. Services are this week.

Peter A. “Pete” Doran, 48, died Tuesday morning, Feb. 2, after a short illness. He was the husband of Rebekah (Honer) Doran to whom he was married for eight years. He was born in Liverpool England, the son of Brian and Joyce (Ellis) Doran of Potsdam NY and spent much of his younger years in Potsdam before moving to Framingham and later Marlborough.

Pete was a graduate of Hamilton College class of 1989 and worked as a software salesman for Monster.com, Citrix Systems and Brainshark Inc. Pete was an avid and very skilled golfer and a long time member of the Marlborough Country Club. Until his illness Pete was an active participant in local men’s hockey leagues and as a referee for the local youth hockey leagues at the New England Sports Center in Marlborough.

Besides is wife and parents he is survived by four sons; Liam and Sean Doran of Framingham, Bailey Honer and Vince Doran of Marlborough, three sisters; Catherine Doran of Los Angeles CA, Christine Doran of Potsdam NY, Suzanne Doran and her daughter Maya of Richmond VA, his in laws Ken and Joanne Honer of Marlborough, a sister in law Rachel Johnson, her husband Richard and their son RJ of Worcester.
His funeral will be held on Friday evening at 7:00 pm. in the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home(www.shortfuneral.com), 95 West Main St. Marlborough Visiting hours at the funeral home will be held on Friday evening from 4-7 p.m. prior to the funeral. Burial will be at a later date.
