Robert J. Neville, Masters Degree in Physics, Dies at 83

Neville grew up and went to school in Newton, and moved to Marlborough later on in his years. Services are Monday.

MARLBOROUGH, MA - Robert J. Neville, Sr., 83, of Marlborough, MA, died Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at UMass Memorial Health Care, Marlborough, with his family by his side.

Born in Newton, he was the son of the late Paul and Mary (McCormack) Neville and the husband of Gloria (Sherman) Neville, to whom he had been married for the past 60 years.

After graduating from Our Lady Help of Christians High School, Newton, he attended Boston College where he received a B.S. and a Master’s Degree in Physics. He was employed at Electronic Corporation of America serving as Vice President for over 30 years, before finishing his career at Raytheon Corporation.

He was a longtime active member and Past President of the Parish Council at the Immaculate Conception Church. He was an avid and accomplished golfer who enjoyed the company of his family above all.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his four children, Steven Neville, of Marlborough,Robert Neville, Jr. and his wife Terri of Harvard, MA, Susan Morris of Northborough and Lisa Malkin of Atkinson, NH, his sister, Eleanor Cuddy of Attleboro and his grandchildren, Benjamin, Alex, Amber, Riley and Holly. He was also the brother of the late Paul Neville and the father- in- law of the lat Stephen” Moose” Morris.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, December 21 from 4-7 pm. at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, at 11:00 am at the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough.
Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson St., Marlborough.
