Aphrodite Only Wishes
Â
The Goddess Aphrodite stood out beyond the sea, she looked towards the oceans shore to see fair Nathalie.
She looked upon the maiden fair who danced upon the sand, a dance beyond Olympic ken, a dance for a mortal man.
A mortal man who gazed upon the maiden oh so fair, his eyes held naught but adoration for nothing else compared.
The Goddess oh so incredulous that he loved her over she, her vain anger soon turned to wrath so far beyond the sea.
She wailed, she screamed, she sought revenge, upon father Zeus she cried, but no force on heaven or on earth would to her will abide.
The more she looked, the more she saw that the love was pure and true, the anger turned to envy, such a love she'd never knew.
Poor Aphrodite Immortal one, in her heart of hearts it's clear, that fair Nathalie and the mortal man out shone the gods so dear.
Of this the Goddess can only wish, the love she'd never knew.
Of love that no immortal knows, what love oh so true.
Of love this mortal holds, what love he holds for you.
