A Sunday Afternoon Poem

Full Moon Over Edgartown

beyond lights, flickering windows
trees sparkle, colors glowing
the season slips in
a chorus of hand bells
ringing hearts with song,
the season of sharing
light passing from shorter days
nights swiftly settling before dinner

forgetful moon
bigger than memories
warmer than distance
between worlds
separated by heaven
held between darkness
and seasons changing

glittering against an ocean
left alone in an indigo world
alone with the moon
home in Edgartown
