American Idol's Sonika Vaid Makes Top 10
Martha's Vineyard's Sonika Vaid, 20, advanced to the "American Idol" top 10 on Thursday.

MARTHA’S VINEYARD, MA — American Idol hopeful and Martha’s Vineyard resident Sonika Vaid on Thursday advanced to the top 10 in the singing competition.
Fourteen contestants remained headed into Thursday night’s live episode. Four were eliminated; Vaid was one of the 10 who advanced.
Vaid’s strong performance of “I Surrender” by Celine Dion this week was her ticket to the next round.

“The way your voice sits in the music is so out of this world,” judge Jennifer Lopez said, adding Vaid has a “voice from God.”

On Thursday, Vaid performed “Bring Me to Life” by Evanesence.
