American Idol Results: Sonika Vaid, of Cape Cod, Makes Top 5

Martha's Vineyard's Sonika Vaid could very well become the next "American Idol."

MARTHA'S VINEYARD, MA — Martha's Vineyard's Sonika Vaid advanced to the top five in "American Idol" Thursday night.

There was no shortage of drama, as Vaid edged out Tristan McIntosh, of Tennessee, for the final spot. Vaid and McIntosh earned the fewest votes and squared off for the final "judge's save."

Vaid's performance of "Let It Go" secured her spot in the top five.
