Bill Murray, Photog Squabble On Martha's Vineyard: Police

The actor told police the photographer, who was on assignment at a local restaurant for The Martha's Vineyard Times, was 'harassing' him.

MARTHA'S VINEYARD, MA – A photographer is accusing actor and comedian Bill Murray of slamming him against a door at a Martha's Vineyard restaurant Wednesday night. Peter Simon, 71, the brother of singer Carly Simon, said he was taking pictures at Lola's in Oak Bluffs for his weekly Vineyard Scene feature in The Martha's Vineyard Times when Murray grabbed him from behind, according to a police report cited by the Boston Globe.

Simon claims Murray slammed him up against a door and, using an expletive, threatened to throw him out of the restaurant and "cause him bodily harm," the Globe reported. In true Vineyard form, the pair allegedly exchanged "Do you know who I ams?" before separating. Simon told the Globe the actor came back later and allegedly poured a glass of water on him and his camera.

Murray told police Simon was "taking pictures of him and harassing him while he was quietly minding his business," the report stated.
