Wind gusts of up to 55 mph will batter Cape Cod this weekend and possibly knock out power.

The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for Friday afternoon through Saturday morning.

The strongest winds will hit late Friday.

  • LOCATIONS...CAPE COD...NANTUCKET AND MARTHAS VINEYARD.
  • WINDS...NORTH 25 TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 55 MPH. * TIMING...STRONGEST WINDS TONIGHT INTO EARLY SATURDAY MORNING.
  • IMPACTS...DOWNED TREE LIMBS AND WIRES...WHICH COULD RESULT IN A FEW POWER OUTAGES. DRIVING MAY BE DIFFICULT FOR TRUCKS AND OTHER HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES.
