Christmas In Edgartown To Host 35th Great Chowder Contest
Tickets are on sale for Christmas in Edgartown's event to determine best clam chowder and seafood chowder on Martha's Vineyard.
MARTHA’S VINEYARD – The holiday season is also chowder season when it comes to Martha's Vineyard. Tickets are on sale for the centerpiece event of Christmas in Edgartown with the 35th Annual Great Chowder Contest set for Dec. 14.
The contest for the best clam chowder and best seafood chowder made on Martha's Vineyard is held for the benefit of The Red Stocking Fun of Martha's Vineyard.
The event from noon to 2 p.m. will be held under the tent on Winter Street on Edgartown with more than a dozen professionals, restaurants and individuals vying for the title of best clam or seafood chowders. The best chowders are determined by vote.

Admission is $10 per person, which includes samples of each of the chowders.
Benefits from ticket sales go to The Red Stocking Fund, which for more than 70 years has provided clothing, and food for over 300 island children from birth through 8th grade who would not otherwise have Christmas.
