Coast Guard Searches For Missing Fishermen Off Martha's Vineyard

U.S. Coast Guard said one fisherman was rescued and three were still missing from a capsized vessel as a search continued Monday.

MARTHA'S VINEYARD — The search for three missing fisherman continued Monday after a boat capsized off the coast of Martha's Vineyard on Sunday. The U.S. Coast Guard said late Sunday night that one fisherman was rescued, and search efforts were ongoing for the remaining three missing from the sunken scallop boat.

The fishing vessel Leonardo, which had departed New Bedford, flipped over and sank about 25 miles off the southwest end of Martha's Vineyard. The U.S. Coast Guard received the distress signal Sunday afternoon. The Coast Guard said crews from Cape Cod Station located and rescued one man on a life raft Sunday afternoon.

About midnight, the Coast Guard said the search was ongoing for the other three fishermen.
