Construction Set To Begin On Martha's Vineyard Gambling Hall

The 10,000-square-foot facility will have about 250 electronic gambling machines and employ nearly 100 people.

AQUINNAH, MA – Construction of a gambling hall on Martha's Vineyard will start next month, according to the Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head (Aquinnah).

The 10,000-square-foot facility will have about 250 electronic gambling machines and employ nearly 100 people, both full- and part-time. It will be located on tribal trust land at 1 Black Rock Road.

Hyannis-based firm Williams Building Company has been selected as the general contractor. The tribe estimates construction will take six months.

The U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear a lawsuit from the state and town opposing the project last year.
