The temporary closure of Edgartown Courthouse comes after the state announced on Dec. 4 that in-person appearances and operations in the court system would be reduced until Jan. 8 due to the statewide increase in COVID-19 cases.
Although Massachusetts courthouses have remained open, most Trial Court operations have been conducted remotely through video conferencing to prevent the spread of the virus.
