Edgartown, Massachusetts August 27,2019

The Edgartown Conservation Commission on Martha's Vineyard voted the second week of July 2019 to deny Vineyard Wind's application to lay two 220,000 volt electric submarine transmission cables that would pass through Nantucket Sound and Muskeget Channel.

The Notice of Intent number is 020-1529. The applicant is Vineyard Wind LLC

August 5, 2019, the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection issued a "Superseding Order of Conditions" basically bypassing the denial by the Edgartown Conservation Commission to deny Vineyard Wind wetlands permit to install the two electric cables.

August 19, 2019, the Edgartown Conservation Commission filed an appeal to the Massachusetts Office of Appeals and Dispute Resolution Office.

The Massachusetts Office of Appeals and Dispute Resolution (OADR) is responsible for resolving appeals of all MassDEP permitting and enforcement decisions.
