Edgartown Police Charge Woman With DUI After Two-Car Crash

Edgartown police said two people were transported to the hospital for evaluation after the crash on Edgartown/Vineyar-Haven Road.

MARTHA'S VINEYARD, MA — Edgartown police charged a woman with driving under the influence of alcohol and negligent operation of a vehicle after the car she was driving was involved in a two-car crash on Edgartown/Vineyard Haven Road near Pilgrim Road on Monday. Police said that both drivers were transported via ambulance to a local hospital for evaluation, but that post on social media suggesting the crash involved a fatality was not accurate.

Police said the crash occurred about 5:30 Monday night when one vehicle rear-ended the other and both sustained significant damage. Both drivers were the sole occupants of their cars.

Police said the female driver of one of the cars was charged with DUI and negligent operation when she was released from the hospital.
