Edgartown Police Warn Of Netflix Subscription Scam

Edgartown police urge residents not to open links from Netflix seeking subscription renewal information.

MARTHA'S VINEYARD, MA — Edgartown police are warning residents about the dangers of clicking on links included in unsolicited emails amid a recent Netflix subscription scam. The scam tells recipients that their subscription has been canceled due to a payment failure and that they need to click on a link to renew the service.

"Don't be fooled by this phishing scam!" Edgartown police posted on their Facebook page. "If you do receive a similar email please DO NOT open any attached links, move it to your SPAM folder and, when in doubt, you can always call customer service from a verified phone number."
