Encore Performance of The Ape Woman Tonight

On August 29^th and 30^th crowds lined up and packed into the in Oak Bluffs to see the world premier of, a new rock opera by May V. Oskan. The story is based on the tragic true story of Miss Julia Pastrana, the Victorian Ape Woman who was part of a freak show, and who gave birth to an ape-like son.  The story is told through original music and spoken text, performed by some of the Vineyard's finest musicians and actors.

The event page on Facebook for The Ape Woman has attendees calling it “poignant,” “moving, strong, powerful, honest,” and “A coming together of the best of our island's talent in a completely solid ensemble.”
