Five Things You Need to Know Today: February 4

1. Today is a Volunteer Build Day at the Habitat for Humanity of Martha's Vineyard Build Site. They are building a FirstDay Cottage: a system of construction that requires almost no carpentry experience. Just show up with a willingness to learn, sign-in with the construction supervisor and help make a positive difference in the lives of others. Please dress appropriate to weather conditions and construction work. Students’ ages 14-16 may volunteer accompanied by parent or guardian and 16-18 may volunteer independently with parent or guardian’s written permission. 8:30 am – 4:30 pm/ For more information call Neal at 508-696-4646.

2. and Coyotes will meet at the Head of the Pond (aka Red Beach) in Aquinnah today.  Explore the pond, look for otter tracks, sneak up on ducks and perhaps gather some yummies. Bring a backpack (not a grocery bag) with your lunch and water. Dress warm to be outside all day with hat, gloves and waterproof boots.  Directions from Chilmark, cross Aquinnah town line, take a right on Lobsterville Rd, stay on the main road and keep to your right twice, the road will end at the pond parking lot. 10 am. 5. Tonight there is a Makos Feeding Frenzy Pasta Dinner at the .
