Five Things You Need to Know Today: January 8
An otter walk, a meeting of fiber folk and ballroom dancing are all happening today

1. Join wildlife biologists Luanne Johnson and Liz Baldwin this afternoon at the Wakeman Center off Lambert's Cove Road (1.1 miles in from Vineyard Haven end) for an "otter-infused exploration" of the surrounding protected lands. For more info see http://www.vineyardconservation.org/. 1 p.m.
2. Every second Sunday the Fiber Folks get together at the in West Tisbury. Bring your knitting, spinning, quilting or any handwork and enjoy an afternoon of friendship and fiber. All levels are welcome and encouraged. Bring any yarn, books, or equipment to exchange with others. 1 pm.
3. Start the New Year with a handmade diary! Come to Crafts for Grownups (ages 12 and up) at the today. 2 pm.

4. The Island Theater Workshop has their annual meeting today at 12 Music St, West Tisbury. Light refreshments will be served. There is a $5 annual membership fee. For more information, call 508-627-3166. 2 pm – 4 pm,
