The Martha's Vineyard boys' basketball team's run in the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) tournamt ended Saturday with a 70-65 loss to Wareham in the championship game of the Division 2 South Sectionals at UMASS-Boston in Dorchester. Congrats go out to the Vineyarders for making it farther than we've been in over 20 years.
2. Opera on Sundays happens Sunday afternoon at the Capawock Theater in Vineyard Haven. Sunday's film concert is Bizet's Carmen filmed at the Berlin State Opera. $15 for adults, $12 seniors/students. 1 pm. For more information, call 508-627-5900.

3. Adult Dirt-time at Sassafras Earth Education in Aquinnah starts this Sunday. The new series for takes place on the 2nd Sunday of the month for 4 sessions: March 11, April 8, May 13 and June 10. Come and experience Sassafras and deepen your connection with your beautiful island. Be outside, use your senses, explore springtime, and feel what you felt as a kid. Learn about observation, bird language, tracking, earth skills and community that values nature connection. $100 for the 4 sessions. 1 pm – 4 pm. For more information, call 508 645 2008.
4. The Grand Opening Reception of Shear Inspriation Salon happens today. There will be refreshments, light fare, door prizes, and a raffle.
