Five Things You Need to Know Today: October 27

Today there is a Fall Kids Clothing Swap at the WT School, a Write Your Life Workshop at the YMCA and a Two Legs Good, Four Legs Better Fundraiser at the Ag Hall

1. There is a Fall Kids Clothing Swap today at the West Tisbury School soccer field sponsored by the Chilmark School PTO. Bring your outgrown gently used kids clothing and costumes to share. Jackets, shoes, boots, hats, mittens, pants, shirts, costumes and anything worthy of a new home.  (Please refrain from bringing clothing with stains or holes.) You may come even if you have nothing to share and you may share even if you don’t need to take anything home. 9 am – 1 pm.

2. here will be a Write Your Life Workshop with Writer/Performer Ann Randolph today at the YMCA. Spend a day and a half in a creative retreat exploring your unique and powerful story. The intention of this workshop is for you to delve deep into your own personal narrative thru writing exercises, ground breaking improvisations and dynamic group discussion. $200. Saturday 10 am – 6 pm and Sunday 10 am – 1 pm. For more information, call 1-800-838-3006

3. The Two Legs Good, Four Legs Better slaughterhouse fundraiser takes place today at the Ag Hall in West Tisbury. Information session followed by food and music by Good Night Louise. 4 pm.

4. AZUR and ASMAR: The Princes Quest screens today at the MV Film Center as part of their Family Film Weekend series. For ages 6 and up, animated. 4 pm. $10/$7 MV Film Society members.

5. The Art*Island – Art Masquerade Ball takes place tonight at the Harbor View Hotel. The Ball benefits and celebrates the arts and our vibrant and creative community. The Sultans of Swing will get masqueraders moving. Come as Frida, as Andy or as a living work of art.​
