MARTHA'S VINEYARD, MA — One of the travel experts and social media influencers surveyed for the Forbes Magazine travel destination list has picked Martha's Vineyard as one of the top 25 destinations to visit in the United States. Tiffany Dowd, described as a global luxury hotel expert and luxury travel influencer known as "Luxe Tiffany" and founder of Luxe Social Media, gave her reasons why travelers should make sure to check out the island.

"Just a 30-minute ferry from Cape Cod, picturesque Edgartown is the hideaway for celebs and A-listers alike including the Obamas, who recently purchased a spectacular home in the area," Dowd wrote. "A former whaling town, the streets are lined with impressive Greek revival homes, former whaling captains' homes, upscale shops, art galleries and top restaurants.

"Stay at the historic Harbor View Hotel, which recently underwent a $15 million renovation keeping its seaside chic flair and adding Bettini Restaurant under the helm of chef Patrice Martineau — a protégé of Chef Daniel Boulud. Soak up the sun on Lighthouse Beach or take the Chappy Ferry to Norton Point Beach for a day of fishing and swimming. Sail at sunset through Katama Bay aboard a restored antique traditional Cape Cod Catboat with Catboat Charters past the iconic Edgartown Lighthouse."
