GoFundMe Created To Help Chappaquiddick Wampanoag Tribe
Donations will help the tribe acquire land on its ancestral homeland.

MARTHA'S VINEYARD, MA — A GoFundMe has been created to help the Chappaquiddick Wampanoag Tribe acquire land on its ancestral homeland, Chappaquiddick Island, as part of an effort to share and preserve their history and culture.
As of Tuesday, nearly $29,000 has been contributed to the Chappaquiddick Tribe of The Wampanoag Indian Nation Corp., a registered 501(c)(3), to help the tribe pay for attorney fees and operating costs related to land acquisition.
"It is overwhelming to see the support we have been able to garner and we would like to keep it going," says the tribe on the GoFundMe page. "Please continue to encourage others to donate share this campaign with friends and family."
