Intentional Parenting with Dr. Martha Straus

Back by popular demand, Dr. Straus speaks tonight at MVRHS

Dr. Martha Straus returns to the Island for her third year
to share her wisdom and experience as both a parent and an adolescent therapist. Enjoy a presentation filled with humor, realism and parenting techniques around her concept of intentional parenting. Straus describes Intentional Parenting as thinking a whole lot more about how we live in the world, what we’re modeling, how we set the emotional tone with our kids and work on our own authenticity.

According to the Youth Task Force, “This woman is great - you will be treated to an entertaining, realistic, resourceful presentation that promises to give you some insight and tools to guide your children through their development at any age.”

Martha B. Straus, Ph.D., is a professor in the Department of Clinical Psychology at Antioch University New England Graduate School in Keene, New Hampshire, and adjunct instructor in psychiatry at Dartmouth Medical School. She’s the author of numerous articles and four books including most recently, “Adolescent Girls in Crisis: Intervention and Hope,” and the highly acclaimed “No-Talk Therapy for Children and Adolescents.” She lives in southern Vermont.
