L.L. Bean Opening First Cape Cod Store

L.L. Bean says it will open a store in Mashpee on Cape Cod.

MASHPEE, MA — L.L. Bean is expanding to Cape Cod. The Maine-based outfitter plans to open a store in Mashpee. The company is already hiring for positions at the store, which will be located in the Mashpee Commons retail complex on Route 28.

The store will open in the summer and plans call for 75 workers.

“Mashpee has a lot of elements that make it an attractive location for us," said Ken Kacere, L.L. Bean's general manager of retail, in a statement. "There’s a host of outdoor recreational opportunities readily available nearby, with an active population base that regularly takes advantage of these resources, combined with a vibrant tourist community."

L.L. Bean has stores in Burlington, Dedham, Mansfield, Natick, and Boston. The company operates about 50 stores in 18 states. L.L. Bean in based in Freeport, Maine.
