Lambert's Cove Road To Remain Closed Through January

Tisbury Town Manager John Grande said work on replacing the culvert damaged in a December storm is expected to be done Feb. 7.

MARTHA'S VINEYARD, MA — Work to replace a Lambert's Cove culvert damaged in a December storm is expected to be completed on early next month. Lambert's Cove Road has been closed for more than a month after it was determined the full culvert needed to be replaced.

Tisbury Town Manager John Grande said a contractor discovered the extent of the damage on Dec. 27 and said a full replacement was necessary. Since then work in the area of Smith Brook has included soil laboratory tests, culvert design and review of the headwall design submissions.

Grande said the contract will return on Monday to begin work on replacement. Anticipation time is expected to be up to two weeks with an expected completion date of Feb. 7.
