Martha's Vineyard Ferry Breaks Down Again
The ferry Martha's Vineyard lost power on a trip to Woods Hole and was taken out of service by the Steamship Authority.

MARTHA'S VINEYARD, MA — The ferry Martha's Vineyard lost power off Falmouth Saturday and taken out of service. The Steamship Authority said there was a problem with the vessel's generator, causing it to lose power as it was backing out of the Woods Hole slip. The captain dropped anchor, restarted the engine and pulled back into the slip, the authority said.
Several Steamship Authority vessels have experienced similar issues over the last few months.
The Martha's Vineyard ferry returned to service in March after undergoing $18.5 million worth of repairs. A few weeks later, it lost power during a run and had to be towed.
