Power In Martha's Vineyard Slowly Coming Back
There's still 620 residents without power on Martha's Vineyard, but Eversource expects it to be restored soon.
MARTHA'S VINEYARD, MA — The vast majority of power outages on the island have been restored. As of 1 a.m. Friday, 620 customers remain in the dark, but their power is expected to be restored overnight, according to Eversource.
Martha's Vineyard was one of the most affected areas with more than 3,000 customers reporting no power Thursday morning, according to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency.
The hardest hit area of the island was Chilmark, where 84 percent of the island was without power. More than half of Martha's Vineyard's outages were in Chilmark where 1,573 homes were in the dark.

High winds in excess of 90 miles per hour Wednesday night along the coast, created a "Bomb Cyclone," which made things dangerous for folks on the Cape and the Islands, according to the National Weather Service.
