Martha's Vineyard Seeking EMT Students
The Island is currently looking for students to sign up for a Spring 2021 EMT class.

MARTHA'S VINEYARD, MA—Martha's Vineyard is currently seeing residents to participate in a spring 2020 EMT class, held virtually through Cape Cod Community College.
The class is part of an effort to train more individuals in Island emergency services due to a need for EMTs.
"This course is designed to train participants to work with Island EMS agencies that provide emergency medical services," says an announcement from the Island EMS departments. "Included in these services are first-aid procedures, operation of emergency equipment, and knowledge of communications systems associated with emergency and rescue operations,"

"Students gain knowledge and skills relating to medical and emergency technology within laboratory and clinical settings," it continues. "Students are eligible for state and national certification upon successful completion of course and state examination.
The class will begin on January 25, 2020 and take place Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. with a lab scheduled on Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. All weekday classes will be held through Zoom and the lab will be held at a Martha's Vineyard location (TBD). The class will end approximately the second week of May. Tuition is around $1,500 with payment plans available.
