Martha's Vineyard Sex Offender Safety Map Halloween 2017
Martha's Vineyard has four sex offenders living and/or working in the city, according to the Massachusetts Sex Offender Registry.

MARTHA'S VINEYARD, MA — Before children go out trick-or-treating on Halloween, now is a good time to take inventory of who is living in your neighborhood. Attleboro has nearly 40 sex offenders living and/or working in the city, according to the Massachusetts Sex Offender Registry. A map of these offenders can be found below.
In Massachusetts, sex offenders are not specifically prohibited from handing out candy on Halloween. Other states like Illinois do prohibit sex offenders from handing out candy on Halloween. Massachusetts sex offenders are prohibited from working as ice cream vendors and cannot live in public housing, however. "The degree of dangerousness posed to the public is such that a public safety interest is served by public availability of registration information,” the Massachusetts Sex Offender Registry board said in a statement.

Officials stressed it is illegal to use sex offender registration information to commit a crime, such as harassing an offender or vandalizing his/her home.
