The advisory is in effect Wednesday from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. Wind gusts will hit 45 mph or higher, possibly knocking out power.

  • LOCATIONS...INCLUDE CAPE COD AND THE ISLANDS...INCLUDING BLOCK ISLAND.
  • WINDS...SOUTH 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 45 MPH.
  • TIMING...EXPECT WINDS TO INCREASE LATE TONIGHT AND CONTINUE UNTIL MID MORNING ON WEDNESDAY
  • IMPACTS...STRONG WIND GUSTS MAY TAKE DOWN TREE LIMBS...WHICH MAY RESULT IN LOCALIZED POWER OUTAGES. MOTORISTS SHOULD ALSO SLOW DOWN AND MONITOR ROAD CONDITIONS ESPECIALLY IF TREE LIMBS BLOCK ROADWAYS. WIND GUSTS MAY ALSO CAUSE PROBLEMS IN HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES.
