This May Be The Best Cape Cod Photo Ever

Astronauts aboard the International Space Station captured this incredible photo of Cape Cod's northern tip.

PROVINCETOWN, MA — Astronauts aboard the International Space Station captured one of the most stunning photos ever taken of Cape Cod.

They used a “very long lens” for this shot of the cape’s 8.5-mile northern tip in Provincetown. The image was one of Nasa’s top 10 best Earth photos in 2015.

“The cream-colored features are symmetrically shaped dunes built mainly by northwesterly winter winds (image upper center) blowing beach sands inland,” NASA said. “Wave refraction ... (has) formed the hook shape we see today.”
