Meghan Trainor, Pride of Cape Cod, Wins a Grammy

Meghan Trainor, who grew up on Nantucket, is now a Grammy winner.

NANTUCKET, MA — Meghan Trainor, the 22-year-old pop sensation who grew up on Nantucket, is now a Grammy winner.

Trainor won “best new artist” at Monday’s Grammy Awards ceremony.

The singer, whose hits include “All About That Bass,” ”Like I’m Gonna Lose You,” and “Lips Are Movin,’” couldn’t contain her emotion during her acceptance speech.

Trainor graduated from Nauset Regional High School in Eastham in 2012.


Her new album, “Thank You,” will be released in the next few weeks.
