Nantucket Schools Closed After Possible Threat

NANTUCKET, MA — Nantucket schools were closed Monday after a possible threat was directed at Nantucket High School.

"While we do not believe that it is credible, I have made the decision to close our schools ... in order to give the Police Department and other law enforcement officials working on this case time to further investigate and ensure the building is safe for our students and staff," Nantucket schools Superintendent Michael Cozort said in a statement.

Police are investigating the matter.
