Permanent Endowment Scholarship Applications Due March 15th

Island high school seniors and post secondary students encouraged to apply

The awards scholarships each spring to Island residents seeking to further their education. It is one of the largest providers of scholarships on Martha’s Vineyard.  In 2010, the Endowment awarded $123,600 to 54 Island students.  Half of the awards went to high school seniors entering college and the other half helped students currently enrolled in college programs.

Any resident of Martha’s Vineyard who will be graduating from an accredited secondary school or an Island high school is eligible to apply for a scholarship from the Permanent Endowment.  In addition, residents who already are enrolled in college may apply.

To determine which scholarship to apply for, students should review the information for each scholarship fund provided in the Our Funds section of the Permanent Endowment website.  Applicants should indicate preferences on the application checklist.  Although students are welcome to apply for as many scholarships as are appropriate, generally only one scholarship will be awarded to a student.  The Permanent Endowment’s application checklist includes the requirements for applying for support from all of the Endowment’s funds.
