Community members came together to give Matt Brown, Sean Chalifoux and Josh Hathaway over $1,000 in cash and a minivan full of donated clothes
Last week, the held a benefit for Matt Brown, Sean Chalifoux and Josh Hathaway, three Islanders whose home was consumed by a .
The benefit was a huge success. Here is a report from Pit Stop Workshop co-founder and musician, Nina Violet:
"There was an amazing turnout last week for the for Matt Brown, Sean Chalifoux, and Josh Hathaway at The Pit Stop Workshop Co. Their friends and our collective community turned out en force to donate over a thousand dollars, stuffed into a jar at the door labeled "For the Boys." They brought a minivan and filled it with clothing donations the next day.
Truckloads of Island bands showed up to play for friends and well-wishers, including Sabrina and Don, Kent Riley, the Bad Ashes, Good Night Louise, Nina Violet, Anthony Esposito and Alex Rentumis, The Hammerheads (the Island's newest, only surf-rock outfit, with outfits!) and DJ Di. There were even two lovely popcorn-vending ladies making the rounds in some stripey, snappy getups.
The Pit Crew is happy to have a space available for events like these. Our members and volunteers help make it possible. Well done Island!"
