This Is The 'Prettiest Town' In MA; See Homes For Sale Here

Even if you don't know what Massachusetts' prettiest town is, you may have seen it. In fact, many movie-going Americans may be familiar.

Edgartown is the prettiest town in the Bay State, according to the highly regarded magazine Architectural Digest. The 1975 hit Jaws was filmed largely on Martha's Vineyard, including Edgartown.

"This former whaling port of about 5,000 residents—located on Martha’s Vineyard—includes two lighthouses (Cape Pogue Light and Edgartown Harbor Light) and a gorgeous shoreline," Architectural Digest said.

The Architectural Digest piece, which picks the prettiest town in every U.S. state, was published July 16.

"Rich in architecture and layered with nature—whether it's canopies of trees, a beach that stretches for miles, or the glass-like surface on a lake or river—each U.S. state hosts more than one town that will take your breath away," the magazine said.

Other well-known towns that made the list include New Hope, Pennsylvania, Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, and Carmel-by-the-Sea, California.
