Three Martha's Vineyard Towns Now In State's Red Zone
Oak Bluffs, Tisbury, and Edgartown are all considered high-risk communities.

MARTHA'S VINEYARD, MA—Oak Bluffs has become the third Martha's Vineyard town to reach the "red zone", or highest risk of coronavirus transmission.
Oak Bluffs' status as a coronavirus red zone means that it has experienced over 25 cases in a population of under 10,000 people. Tisbury and Edgartown were designated red zones in the last few weeks and remain high-risk communities, according to Friday's data released by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
Oak Bluffs has experienced a total of 50 coronavirus cases, with 36 reported in the last 14 days. The town has an average daily incidence rate of 49.4 and a positivity rate of 6.46%.

Edgartown has reported a total of 74 cases, with 38 reported in the last 14 days. The town has an average daily incidence rate of 66.4 and a positivity rate of 3.98%.
Tisbury has had the highest number of cases on the island, with a total of 88 cases and 33 reported in the last 14 days. The town has an average daily incidence rate of 56.5 a positivity rate of 2.97%, showing an improvement from last week's positivity rate of 5.28%

The Martha’s Vineyard Hospital has tested 8,008 individuals since the start of the pandemic, according to an update released on the hospital's website on Sunday, with 213 testing positive, 7,778 testing negative, and 17 pending results.
The increase in COVID-19 cases is happening throughout Massachusetts. On Sunday, the Department of Public Health reported 2,501 positive cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 217,163. The state also reported 46 new deaths, bringing the total number of deaths among confirmed cases to 10,487.
