Tisbury Says Yes to Snyder, No to Roundabout

Finance Committee member Jon Snyder beat former selectmen Tom Pachico and the roundabout got a resounding no

Yesterday in Tisbury, voters elected Jon Snyder selectman over Tom Pachico. Snyder, a member of the Tisbury finance committee for six years and the All-Island finance committee for five, won by a narrow margin of 473 to 426.

According to the Martha’s Vineyard Times, the total 926 voters equal 32% of the town's 2,930 registered voters.

The two candidates were competing in Tisbury’s only contested race for the seat held by Geoghan Coogan who decided not to seek reelection. Pachico has served as the Tisbury health agent for the past 19 years and also served three previous terms as selectman, until he lost his seat to Jeff Kristal in 2008.
