Tonight at the Pit Stop: Daniel Macke and Friends

Singer songwriter Daniel Macke of Washington State will play with Kenny Lockwood, Nancy Jephcote and Paul Thurlow

Daniel Macke, a Rainshadow Records recording artist from the state of Washington, will perform a concert with Kenny Lockwood, Nancy Jephcote and Paul Thurlow at the in Oak Bluffs Friday night at 7:00 pm.

"Daniel Macke is the Leo Kottke of the Port Townsend boatyard," according to recording label director Dave Sheehan.

As serious about boats as he is music, the 12 string guitar stylist confirms he's been steeped in the work of "...Kottke, Renbourn, Fahey and others, early on. I was later seriously hooked on the late Michael Hedges' fabulous work. My influences and my 'style' don't easily fit a single category." He continues with typical humor, "I love the jumbo bodied guitars and the full, rich sound that comes with looking like a dwarf when you play one."
