Last year Massachusetts recognized Juneteenth Independence Day as a state holiday, commemorating the June 19th date of the emancipation of Black slaves in the United States. Vineyard Haven Library will be closed for the holiday on Saturday June 19th.The library's streaming, on-demand video service Kanopy has a curated collection of filmsthat commemorate the day, honoring and celebrating the emancipation of those who had been enslaved in the United States. Kanopy videos are free with your Vineyard Haven CLAMS card.
