Visions for Vacancies on Martha's Vineyard: Aboveground Records Remodel

A weekly look at one vacant storefront, building or structure in the community.

Our new Visions for Vacancies feature starts this week on MVPatch. Here you’ll find a place where you can weigh in with your ideas about what kind of businesses you’d like to see occupying empty storefronts around town.

Each week, we’ll highlight a vacant building, storefront or structure around town. And we’ll leave it to the Island community to sound off on what you’d like to see there.

This week we’re taking a look at new store front created by the remodel of Aboveground Records. The new is open for business after remodeling their space and dividing it in half. The old Aboveground Records took up two storefronts and now only takes up one - leaving a newly outfitted space next to one of the Island's most popular establishments and the only Island music store.

What would you like to see go into this space? Don't worry about zoning restrictions - this is purely an exercise of the Island's imagination. Imagine coming out of Aboveground, with your new LP or CD in hand, where would you like to go next?
