West Tisbury Police Receive Reports Of Suspicious Driver

Police say the driver has attempted to pick up minor female pedestrians on multiple occasions.

MARTHA'S VINEYARD, MA — West Tisbury police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspicious driver that has attempted to pick up minor female pedestrians multiple times, reported the Martha's Vineyard Times.

Police first received a report that a woman drove up to two minors and offered them a ride at approximately 3 p.m. on Jan. 24 near Island Farms Rd. and Oak Knoll Rd. During the investigation of that incident, police discovered that a similar incident happened in the same area a week earlier and notified the local school district and superintendent of schools.

Investigators said the suspect has been described as a middle-aged white female in her late 20s or early 30s with dark curly hair. She was driving a white boxy style SUV that may have been a Jeep.
